NICE TO MEET YOU, I'M ERIN NICOLE

Ever since I was young, I have aspired to travel the world; to visit its most beautiful sites, eat the tastiest food, and learn about different cultures. I first got a look at the world when, for my 16th birthday, my family and I took a trip to Paris. I had dreamed so much of visiting the city that I even took French classes (not that I retained any of it :0). That summer, 2014; we went, we saw, and we conquered. I loved  the trip, so much that the day we left Paris I cried my eyes out thinking that I would never get there again. A trip like that was not common for my family, in fact that had even been the first time my parents went abroad. 5 years later, while having the privilege of studying in Spain, I got to enjoy Paris a second time and realized if there was anywhere in the world I wanted visit, I could make it happen.

Come 2020, the pandemic starts; I had just graduated University and now we were all locked in. During that time, I discovered Kara and Nate’s YouTube channel and binged 4 years of their travels from the beginning. Here is where I realized that full time travel is a real thing and very much something that is possible. So from that point forward I set my eyes on just that.

I got a new job and worked a lot of overtime (like a lot a lot) and saved up all my pennies to pursue this dream of traveling. I immersed myself in all things travel and did loads of research on places I wanted to visit. For the past 2 years I have been preparing myself to start my travels and to hopefully make this a full-time gig for me. January 2024 is where this journey begins and I hope you join me along for the ride:)

Now, Why Sonder?

Sonder is “the profound feeling of realizing that everyone passing by has a life as complex as one’s own, which they are constantly living despite one’s personal lack of awareness” coined by John Koeing. By tuning into this blog and following on social media you will be getting an inside look at not only my life but everyone I meet. Thus, becoming aware of someone’s life you would have never known existed otherwise. So welcome to not only my travels but also my life…
