The Visa

Information about this Visa is based on American Citizenship

  • Visa on arrival for US citizens 
  • Up to 90 days
  • SG Arrival Card
    • The SG Arrival Card is the electronic version of the paper disembarkation/embarkation (DE) card (or commonly known as the white card) that foreign visitors are required to submit upon arrival in Singapore for immigration clearance.
    • Everyone needs this and should be done 3 days before arrival.

Fun Fact: Singapore does not stamp your passport upon arrival; UNFORTUNATELY no fun stamp 

Airport

  • Changi Airport
    • There are Three terminals but to see all of the famous exhibits in the airport you must leave the terminals
    • Things to see:
      • Changi Experience Studio
        • Open 11am- 8pm Monday- Friday 
        • Open 10am- 8pm Saturday & Sunday 
        • Last admission 7pm
        • Cost $25 SGD

All bellow are free to Visit and Open 24 hours

      • The Jewel:
        • Canopy Park
        • HSBC Rain Vortex – Famous waterfall
        • Has a colorful light show that takes place at 8 PM and 9 PM from Monday to Thursday, and at 8 PM, 9 PM, and 10 PM from Friday to Sunday and on Public Holidays.
        • Can’t leave the airport? You can opt to take the Skytrain connecting Terminals 2 & 3. The train passes through the Jewel giving visitors a glimpse of the area.
      • Butterfly Garden
        • Near Terminal 3
      • Sunflower Garden
        • Near Terminal 2
      • Enchanted Garden
        • Near Terminal 2
      • Cactus Garden
        • Near Terminal 1

There are a lot of gardens in Changi so chose wisely. 

  • Getting into the city:
    • Can take an Uber
    • Can take the train
      • Singapore Train system is one of the easiest to use so do not feel intimidated by it when you first get there. 
      • You can use your phone; such as apple pay; to pay for the train.
An FYI: When leaving through Changi Airport security is at the gate therefore any drinks you buy before had will be tossed. Once you pass the security you are stuck at the gate and cannot leave.

Singapore is a very diverse country so there is not any set foods to try. But with that being said the dominating cultures are Chinese, Arabic, and Indian; so trying foods from those cultures might be the best.  

Things to do

  • Gardens by the Bay:
    • It is free to enter the park but there also also multiple paid exhibits here:  
      • Flower Dome
      • Cloud Forest
        • These two attractions are a combo ticket that cost $28 SGD
      • Floral Fantasy
        • Cost $20 SGD
      • Supertree Observatory
        • Cost $14 SGD
      • Supertree Skywalk
        • Cost $14 SGD
    • Open from 9am- 9pm
    • Last Admission to all is 8:30 pm

You can book different combo tickets for the exhibits online.

    • There is the famous SuperTree light show at night that last 15min. Starts at 7:50 last one is at 8:50 and Free to see. 
      • Helpful tip alert: Get there early if you do not want to sit on the floor as this is really popular to see or bring a blanket so you can lay on the floor. 
  • Marina bay Sands Skypark
    • Open 11am – 9pm 
    • Cost $30 SGD
    • Here you go to the top of the world famous hotel.

    • Located in front of the mall with the best place to watch it is at the event plaza
    • Free to see
    • Last 15 mins 
    • Everyday at 8 and 9 pm; Also on at 11pm on fridays and saturdays 
  • MacRitchie reservoir park
    • Free To hike 
    • Known for the treetop walk 
  • Haw par villa 
    • A Tour of hell
    • Originally built in 1937 
    • Admission is free
    • Reached on the MRT green line 
  • Merlion park
    • Famous Singapore landmark 
    • Located at one Fullerton 
    • A mythical creature 
    • To represent Singapore’s origins as a fishing village
  • Chijmes 
    • Beautiful white church 
    • If you’re a fan of Crazy Rich Asias this is where they filmed the wedding scene 

3-5 days is good for Singapore

  • Lots of souvenir shops
  • Sir Mariamman Temple
    • Open 6am- 1pm then reopens at 6pm-9pm
    • Make sure to cover up here.
  • Thian Hock Keng Temple
  •  Maxwell food center 

Arabic Quarter 

  • Sultan Mosque
  • Haji Lane
  • Arab Street  

Lots of street art to see in this area. 

Little India 

  • Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple

The Arabic Quarter was my favorite!
